Overview
For more than 14 years, I helped shape the visual communications for Maryland SNAP-Ed, developing cohesive brand systems that supported statewide nutrition education and public health initiatives. Working closely with educators, program leaders, and communications teams, I designed websites, stakeholder reports, presentations, marketing campaigns, and digital resources that translated complex information into engaging, accessible experiences.
My work emphasized consistency across print and digital platforms while supporting multiple initiatives and audiences throughout Maryland. From data-driven infographics and educational presentations to promotional campaigns, social media, and web content, I helped create a unified visual language that strengthened program recognition, expanded community engagement, and supported lasting public health impact.
Websites
Maryland SNAP-Ed’s websites served as central hubs for educators, families, and community partners, providing access to educational resources, curriculum materials, and program information. I designed new pages, created supporting graphics, and continually refined site content and navigation to improve usability while maintaining a consistent visual experience across both platforms.

mdteachertoolkit.org
Developed new landing pages, graphics, and educational resource layouts that helped organize content for teachers and school wellness leaders. Ongoing updates improved navigation and made it easier for users to discover practical tools, lesson materials, and program resources.

eatsmart.umd.edu
Designed and maintained new web content supporting nutrition education initiatives, promotional campaigns, and community outreach. Through continual content updates, page enhancements, and visual improvements, the site remained an engaging and accessible resource for Maryland families and educators.
Stakeholder Reports & Infographics
Communicating statewide impact required more than presenting statistics, it required transforming complex data into engaging visual stories. Each annual stakeholder report combined editorial design, custom illustrations, and information graphics to help educators, community partners, policymakers, and program leaders quickly understand key outcomes. Supporting infographics were intentionally designed as modular assets, extending the reach of the reports across presentations, digital communications, and partner outreach.

Snapshot Infographic
Designed to communicate key outcomes at a glance, these concise infographics distilled complex program metrics into clear, engaging visuals. While they complemented the annual stakeholder reports, they were intentionally created as standalone assets that could be shared through presentations, websites, newsletters, social media, and even email signatures. The featured “Maryland Oriole” graphic became a widely recognized visual summary of statewide impact and was adopted by program leadership and staff as part of their ongoing communications.

Feature Infographics
More detailed infographics explored individual initiatives by combining narrative, illustration, and data visualization into a single visual story. While developed as part of the annual reports, each graphic was designed to stand on its own, giving partners and stakeholders flexible resources they could share in presentations, publications, and outreach materials.
Presentations
Presentation templates established a consistent visual system for conferences, educator trainings, workshops, and community outreach across Maryland SNAP-Ed. Designed to be both flexible and easy to use, these branded templates enabled staff to create polished, engaging presentations while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across statewide initiatives and evolving presentation formats.

Conference Presentation Templates
Custom presentation systems were developed to support a variety of educational programs and seasonal initiatives. Distinct visual themes—including the Tastings 101 series and the Parent & Child presentation set—provided recognizable, reusable frameworks that educators could easily adapt while maintaining a consistent Maryland SNAP-Ed brand.

Educational Presentation Systems
As virtual meetings and multimedia presentations became increasingly common, the presentation system evolved to support widescreen (16:9) formats. Updated layouts were optimized for Zoom, webinars, conference displays, and digital presentations while preserving the established visual identity and providing greater flexibility for photography, educational graphics, and multimedia content.
Campaigns & Outreach
Strategic communication materials helped extend Maryland SNAP-Ed’s reach beyond classrooms and community programs by promoting educational resources, increasing public awareness, and encouraging engagement across a variety of audiences. From social media campaigns and print materials to public outreach initiatives, each piece was designed to communicate clear, accessible messages while maintaining a consistent visual identity across statewide communications.

Public Awareness Campaign
As Maryland SNAP-Ed faced the loss of federal funding, a coordinated social media campaign was developed to highlight the program’s statewide impact and encourage public support. Through compelling graphics and clear messaging, these assets helped communicate the value of nutrition education while giving educators, partners, and community members materials they could easily share across their own networks.

COVID-19 Community Resources
During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, outreach materials were created to connect families with reliable nutrition, meal, and community resources during a time of significant uncertainty. Distributed through schools and community partners, these simple, accessible materials helped ensure families could quickly locate healthy food resources and trusted information when they needed it most.
Results
Over more than 14 years, I contributed to a broad range of communication initiatives that supported Maryland SNAP-Ed’s statewide outreach efforts. By developing reusable design systems, accessible educational materials, and consistent visual standards across print and digital media, I helped strengthen the program’s communications while supporting educators, families, and community partners throughout Maryland.
