Asian countries with majestic mountains, ancient history, striking landscapes, and worlds to explore.

During my career, I’ve been able to work with the tourism boards many Asian countries and their landmarks, including China and its Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, (South) Korea, and Hong Kong. While political tensions may be higher than they were when I worked on these campaigns, there is no denying the beauty of these countries and all they have to offer. Here I share samples of work from China and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

China

China’s National Tourism Office approached us to create an updated website, e-newsletters, email headers, and banner ads geared towards attracting more visitors from the United States.

I used colorful imagery featuring the landmarks, people and animals of China to catch the eye. Red is an auspicious color in Chinese culture, beyond being the main color of their flag, and it is believed to attract positive energy. Therefore, all pieces for China include some red woven throughout the design to draw attention and good luck.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Located in the Hunan province of south-central China, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park was the inspiration for the 2009 blockbuster movie, Avatar. With its other-worldly unique quartz sandstone peaks rising from the mists, it’s no wonder this park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

I updated their website and Facebook page, and I designed banner ads and e-blasts showcasing the awe-inspiring beauty of this national park to inspire visitors from the US and other English-speaking countries.
